"My course of one-on-one sewing classes with Helen was fantastic! Helen tailored it to my individual level and needs and every lesson was chock full.
I learnt a huge amount, boosted my confidence in designing and sewing and I had fun!
I will definitely keep in touch with Helen for the occasional class or just help!
Thank you very much."

Laura Peregrine

"It has been the most amazing experience to see all my ideas come together. I have learnt so much in every area from sewing, designing and pattern making. I didn’t think it was possible, I thought I would have to study for years, but this course has truly inspired me."

Classes

Two hour classes are designed to suit everyone’s sewing requirements. These small classes of 3 are designed so that each person can get individual attention. Classes range from 2 to 6 week courses and are designed to so that you can gradually build your skill level.

Sew a skirt from pattern to finish

“Seen a skirt you like?” Bring the picture and the fabric, we’ll make the pattern and you’ll go home with a new skirt.

Basic mending and machine techniques

This class is for people who have NO IDEA! And would like to be able to do those handy tasks when your buttons fall off, hems come down and jeans are too long. Bring your machine and all your clothes to mend.

I came to the class with absolutely no sewing knowledge hoping to gain a few  pearls of wisdom. After my 4 week course, I went from not knowing what a bobbin was to altering my own clothing and planning future fashion projects. The classes were fun, flexible and always informative. Helen would listen to what we needed to do with our skills and created specialized classes around that. My sewing confidence has gone through the roof and I have Helen to thank for that.

Lloyd Harvey

I had zero knowledge of sewing when I began classes with Helen. I completed a 4 week course and now I am feeling confident with a sewing machine and have a good understanding of how to put fabrics together for clothing. The class was comfortable and it's small size assisted my learning greatly. Helen is very encouraging and a fabulous guide. She makes sure that you get hands on practice and that you don't allow the fear of making mistakes get in the way of giving it a go. Thank you Helen, I am now keen to get mor einvloved with sewing.

Spencer Harvey

Helen was great! She helped me practically excute the ideas that I had with a minimum of fuss. She had great patience and sympathy for my on-going dilemas with my sewing machine and was happy to help with even the most ridiculously simple impractical questions I had. Thank you Helen! I'll be back from your "Make a skirt class"
